RV
Window Awning Lock Instructions
STEP 1:
Open the window awning and secure it to the rig.
STEP 2:

Make sure the soft
or loop side of a Grommet Strap is facing you. Borrowing
an existing rail screw, secure the Grommet Straps
6” from each end of the awning rail.
STEP 3:

Leave the Grommet
Strap hanging as you roll up the awning. Next, extend
the Grommet Strap up and over the aluminum awning
cover. This identifies the location where you will
place the Hi-Temperature Hook material. Clean the
aluminum awning cover with alcohol where the Hi-Temp
Hook material will attach. It is important
to clean this area to remove residual buildup of
dirt and grime. Failure to adequately clean will
result in failure of the Hook adhesive.
STEP 4:
Peel off the backing
of the Hi-Temp Hook Sticky Back. Attach the Hook
material at the appropriate places on the awning
cover so the Grommet Straps can be secured to it
when they are brought up and over the awning cover.
Let the Hook set for 24 hours before attaching the
Grommet Strap to it in order to allow the adhesive
to set up properly.
STEP 5:

It is not necessary
to take out your ladder. Standing on the ground,
simply insert the hook end of your Awning Wand into
the loop on the Grommet Strap and push the strap
up and onto the Hook. Repeat at the other end. This
will secure your awning and you are ready for travel.
(See picture below) If you need a longer Awning
Wand check out the two piece 54” Awning Wand
available from Coil n’ Wrap. The loop on your
strap is smaller than shown in the picture.
STEP 6:

To open the awning,
use your Awning Wand to grasp the loop and pull
down on the strap, releasing it from the Hook.
