FAQs
Q: Why should I use Coil n' Wrap®?
A: It takes up no room, creates more space (custom size your coils so one fits inside the other), adds no weight, is quick and easy to use, keeps your clothes cleaner, eliminates hassle and saves time. It automatically drains your hose as you coil it up. It also trains your hose because it forms exactly the same size of coil each time making it quicker and easier to use.
Q: I like to join
the ends of my hose together before I store it. Can I do
this using Coil n' Wrap®?
A: Yes, Coil n' Wrap® takes all the guesswork out of coiling your hose and then screwing the ends together. The first time you put the Coil-It® on the hose, adjust the placement of it so that the ends come around to join. Because the Coil-It® stays securely where you place it, it will make exactly the same size of coil each time. It will take a couple of attempts the very first time to get it set up correctly, but then you will never have to do it again. Each and every time it will be perfect.
Q: Will Coil n' Wrap® work with a water hose quick connect?
A: Yes. First of all take the quick connect off of the male end of the hose. (You only have to do this the one time when installing the Coil-It®.) Stretch the rubber Coil-It® over the male end and slide it down about three to four feet. Form your first coil and put the male end of the hose thru the other side of the Coil-It®. Attach the quick connect and attach to your coach. Leave the first coil in the hose so you don't have to take the quick-connect on and off. This is a simple solution that works with quick-connects. If your hose is 25' long or less, you may also buy the Coil-It® made for the 30 Amp Cable. It is notched and clips on, so you do not have to remove the end when attaching it.
Q: My 30 amp electrical cable is attached to my unit, will Coil n' Wrap® still work for me?
A: That depends. If your cable has to be pulled or pushed through a hole in your rig in order to put it away, the answer is no. Otherwise, you can put the Coil-It® about 3 to 4 feet from loose end of the cord, form your first coil and then walk the cord back to your unit, rolling it up the way you would if it were not attached. Cinch the Velcro ® Brand strap around your coiled cable once you reach the bin and lay it in there. Works great!
Q: What about my 50-amp cable? Do you have a solution for me?
A: Wrestling with a 50-amp cable is tough. It's too heavy to coil like we would any another cable and if it's cold it's a real bearcat! So far the best suggestion we have is to coil it on the ground into as small a bundle as you want and then secure it with the Heavy Duty Carry Strap. When you put the Heavy Duty Carry Strap around it and cinch it down, it becomes easy to carry and manage.
We do recommend our PLUG DOGS which enable you to separate the male and female ends of your 50amp cable, surge protector, autoformer and dog bone by pulling them directly apart or directly out of the receptacle. This will avoid damage to the prongs and wiring and greatly extend the life of these expensive cables. See the information on these in the Coiling Products section of this website.
Q: Do the cords and hoses tangle with each other or come undone in storage?
A: No they don't. Coil n' Wrap® keeps your hoses, electrical and TV cables in secure, compact bundles that don't become entangled and they don't come undone as you reach for just the one you need.
Q: Are your Cinch Straps used for awnings?
A: Yes. They fit the standard awning arm and many RV'ers use them to prevent their awning arm from coming open as they travel down the road. It has often been referred to as "Cheap Insurance".
Q: Why would I need an awning safety strap, doesn't my awning have safety locks on it now?
A: Your awning does have a safety lock, but like all safety devices they sometimes come undone while traveling or don't get done up correctly. When that happens your awning can unfurl as you are driving and then get torn off your rig. We have heard so many stories about awnings coming down and the damage that resulted was unbelievable. The inconvenience of having to do without your RV while it is being repaired is also undesirable. When I do seminars at the RV rallies and ask how many people have had their awning come down while they are driving, 40% of the people put up their hands. Awning safety straps are a cheap form of insurance just in case your other safety devices don't work.
Since the awning arm and the canopy can come down, independent of each other at any time, your very best solution is to purchase the Awning Lock featured in our Awning Products section of this web site.
This acts like a dead bolt and prevents the roller tube from turning as well as holding the arm in place.
Q: What would I use your Heavy Duty Carry Strap for?
A: The HD Strap is an awesome strap for use in dealing with bulky cords, cables, hoses etc. If you have a swimming pool you can use it to handle the pool vacuum hose, or the vacuum hose around the house or in your RV. The strap has a handy grommet for hanging. For 50 amp cables it is the best solution we have been able to find. For the boater who has to bring his shore cable, water hoses etc up from the hold, the HD Strap allows you to carry them all at the same time and then hang them back up in the hold when done. We have had people buy the strap for welding cables, long extension cords, for carrying patio mats and many other things.
