Thanksgivings over, but Santa is on his way!
Our Thanksgiving Sale is Continued.

Dec 2008

Thanksgiving is over and we all are getting ready for Christmas.  Santa will be on his way before we know it.  Hope he finds you and yours where ever you are!  We hope that your Thanksgiving was an enjoyable one spent with family and friends and that you didn't eat too much and now have to diet to get into those Christmas clothes.  It's certainly a different holiday season than I have ever seen in the past.  Fuel prices are down 50% that's the good news.  The other news you have heard enough about.

It looks like the President elect is putting together a talented team it appears that once the inauguration is over they will be ready to roll.   Hopefully your personal situation is not being affected too severely and will rebound soon.  One bright spot is at the time of this writing the stock market has been up for the last five sessions.  Perhaps the team that Obama is putting together is providing a degree of confidence that they are ready to act and that is influencing the market.  Let's hope so.

Last month we had our annual Thanksgiving Sale for our loyal readers.  This is not available to the public who come to the website.  It's only for you, the readers of our newsletter.  Many of you took advantage of this sale and we have decided to continue the sale for December.  Just type "Thanks" into the discount code box and you will get a 10% discount on your purchases.  Make sure you pass this along to your RVing friends.

The InstaHanger
Forward to a Friend
Last month we introduced the new InstaHanger and have now put a video on the website so you can see some of the many uses for this unique product.  It's really a handy dandy item with tons of uses and applications in and around the RV, house or office.  In case you didn't read last months newsletter, the information on this new product is included below.

InstaHanger ClosedI have watched my wife for years do the laundry and ironing and look for a place to hang up clothes while she is doing it.  Sometimes it's hanging on a doorknob, or hung on the refrigerator door, or on top of an open door or draped over a chair.  This new product provides an instant place to hang up your clothes.  I can see one of these in the bedroom so when you are planning to leave on a trip, you can accumulate the clothes you want.  The picture to the left shows the InstaHanger on a wall in my RV.  It measures 18" by 3" and will hold 50 pounds when secured to the wall.  For those of you that don't want to screw anything to the wall of your rig, you can use our Super High Temp Hook & Loop as I did.

Insta Hanger OpenInsta Hanger Clothes

The pictures above show the Insta Hanger opened and with clothes hung on it.  Before we became full timers I could see three of these in my home and one or two in the rig.  In the house I would have had one in the laundry room so Judy could hang clothes up as they came out of the drier.  One in the kitchen where she did her ironing while watching TV and a third one in the master bedroom closet.  We were always taking clothes either out to the rig or back into the house.  This would have been an invaluable aid for that transition.  This is going to be a fabulous gift for many people.  Everyone has this problem.  You are not alone.  The Insta Hanger is unobtrusive and yet an attractive adornment.  It is made of wood with a stainless steel rod to hang your clothes on.   It is also available in white plastic.

I used our High Temperature Hook & Loop to attach the InstaHanger to the wall.  I used a piece across the top and bottom and two 6" pieces down each side at the top.  Don't forget that when you use hook & loop, you need to attach it to the wall, put it on the InstaHanger and DON'T INTRODUCE THEM TO EACH OTHER FOR 24 HOURS.  If you do it any sooner, it will not hold as the adhesive hasn't had a chance to set.  You need more at the top  because of the stress from the clothes hanging on it.  I hung 15 shirts and 3 pairs of pants on the rod and it held up fine using the hook & loop.  It does come with screws and wall anchors to mount it to the wall and this will work for some but not all RVers.  The manufacturer shows using this on the outside of an RV as well.  I would use the plastic version if I was to do that and would still use the hook & loop so I could remove the hanger between uses.

LightCheck Customer Comments

The LightCheck and Safety Plug has been enthusiastically received by RVers and has quickly become one of our top selling products.   The LightCheck allows ONE person to check to see if the lights are working on a trailer or 5th wheel without having to plug in the tow vehicle or have someone sitting in the tow vehicle turning on the signal lights and hitting the brakes.   One key component of the LightCheck is the diagnostic and trouble shooting guide.  It identifies the problem if one exists so you can either fix it yourself or arrange to have it repaired, prior to your trip.  As usual our great customers come back with many interesting comments.  Here are some of them below.

I was at a campground when I first got introduced to your LightCheck product.  When I went to leave and plugged my trailer into the truck, nothing worked.  No clearance lights, turn signals or brakes lights.  I was scratching my head wondering what went wrong when a fellow RVer came over with the LightCheck and suggested I unplug from the truck and his unit would then diagnose the problem.  When we plugged in the LightCheck the trailer lights worked properly.  This eliminated the trailer as being part of the problem and isolated it to the truck.  After checking we found a bad connection in the electrical plug of the truck.  I wouldn't have had a clue as to where to begin if it hadn't been for your great product.  Needless to say, I now own my own LightCheck and are singing its praises to anyone that will listen.  It saved me not only a lot of trouble but also a service call.   John Miller, Alabama

Another customer had a similar problem but couldn't solve the wiring issue on the truck.  He was going to have to travel after dark to get home and was concerned about traveling with no lights.  He unplugged the truck and plugged in the LightCheck which illuminated the clearance lights and flashed the brake lights.  He was able to return home that night with the trailer lights illuminated but with no turn signals.  The flashing lights on the back of the unit told other motorists that he was having a problem of some kind.  The LightCheck uses the battery on the trailer to illuminate the lights and will illuminate the lights for 12-24 hours depending on the number of batteries and their condition.

The diagnostic capabilities of the unit have largely been ignored in my newsletters but keep getting brought up by our users.  Here is an example of the "Trouble Shooting" guide that is built into the unit.  Some people have said this is worth the cost of the product all by itself because they would have no idea of where to start solving the problem.

Let's say that you discover a problem like this one.  All the trailer lights illuminate but the turn signals don't flash and the amber light on the LightCheck doesn't flash.   That's Point 2 in the Trouble Shooting guide.  The guide states that the cause is a ground problem on the RV and the solution is to test and repair the wiring to the ground.  The Trouble Shooting guide has identified the three possible things that could be the problem on the towable unit, identified the cause of the problem and offered the solution.  Some problems you may be able to deal with yourself, while others may mean you need to schedule a service call to have the problem fixed.  The LightCheck pays for itself the first time you don't have to schedule a service call.

We have some of these units that are factory seconds available.  This is where the physical appearance doesn't meet our standards.  The unit works just fine, but perhaps the label didn't get applied correctly or something like that.  They are on sale at a pretty good discount and then you can also take advantage of the 10% off this month by typing in Thanks in the discount code coupon box when you check out.  The regular price is $44.95 and the factory seconds are $34.99. This diagnostic tool will provide years of service.

Looking to make money while you are RVing?
If you are looking for a way to make money while you are travelling down the road, perhaps you should look at becoming a road team with Coil n' Wrap.  We have superior products and provide great support for our road teams.  Being in business for yourself has a lot of benefits.  You can write off your fuel costs, maintenance and many things that  are normally paid out of after tax income.  In order to be a road team you really need to have a Class A motorhome with a full basement and a tow vehicle that is capable of carrying products.  It takes about a $6000 initial investment for a credit card machine, booth supplies and inventory for your first show.  Having been in business for yourself in the past is a huge asset. Also, basic computer knowledge of  how to use email, Word and Excel is definitely helpful as we conduct business with our road teams using those three programs. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Ken Wilton at 623-544-3436.
