RV Fire - Address Correction
One of our readers, Michael Bailey sent me an email and told me the link in the newsletter was incorrect. Thanks Michael. It has now been corrected so you can click on the link below to read all about the escape plan and then further down click on a link about a gorgeous RV going up in flames.
Last month I talked about the RV fire we witnessed in Mesquite, NV and I talked about an escape plan. Do you have an escape plan? On our new Blog there is an article about this that is a must read for everyone. Check it out here.
In the past few months there have been at least six reported RV fires and one death. These fires were the result of space heaters in RV's. Make sure that if you use a space heater that you turn it off before you go to bed and make sure it's not placed too close to anything flammable.
Here is a video on an RV Fire on You Tube. Looks like it might have started in the engine compartment. It was a nice rig. |

RV GOOD News Shipments of new RV's were up 150% in December over the previous year. Great news for the industry and for all of us. |

Congratulations Idaho In response to budgetary income shortfalls, AZ is closing 21 State parks. They have already closed the majority of Rest Stops. This is predicted to save $8.6 million dollars on top of the $34 millions that has already been cut from this budget.
Idaho decided to keep its parks open and make administration cuts instead. Bravo Idaho! |

Why Should I Buy These LED's?
Many of you are probably wondering why people are switching to these new LED light bulbs that are so expensive. It has been quite a learning experience for us as well. With all new technologies there is a product learning curve for both the manufacturer and the user. I have tried out MANY of the LED products available on the market and haven't added them to our product list until now. My experience with a lot of the lights out there hasn't been that great. I have returned many of the bulbs I have bought because they have failed within months of installing them. They are supposed to last for years, not months!
We have endorsed the particular lighting products because they meet our expectations and we have confidence in the supplier. The way they are made, the innovations they have added, set them out from the rest of the crowd.
The question then becomes why do I want so spend this kind of money on a light bulb? Stop and think about where does the power come from to light the bulbs in your rig? The lights are 12 volt lights, so even when you are plugged into 110 shore power, your converter is working to change the power over to 12 volt. Anytime you change power from one power source to another you lose efficiency. That means your batteries have to work harder, shortening their life expectancy, as well as the life of your converter.
If you do any dry camping, changing to LED's will absolutley change how you live in your rig. The batteries don't get drained nearly as quickly because the lights draw anywhere from 1/10 to 1/20th of the power! That means turning on the generator less often and adding life to it. The LED lights also generate less heat in the rig which makes it easier to keep the RV cool. There are savings in replacement parts meaning you will not have to replace the covers to the ceiling and under cabinet light covers. There is something to say about safety when you need it most, and that is when dry camping. So now for the first time you can have the same amount of protection and convenience as you have enjoyed at home for years without wearing down those batteries.
Over the next few months we will be introducing plug in fluorescent tubes. Right now there are NO plug in LED replacement tubes. They all require cutting wires or rewiring the fixture. Ours will be remove the old one and plug in the new one. More inside lights will be available so you can go totally GREEN!
10% Discount on LED Bulbs
We have a new Wedge base LED light available that will fit a lot of interior lights in your rig. Please note that it is a directional light. By that I mean the light comes out from one side of the light so it won't be applicable in all situations. It doesn't throw light like an incandescent bulb, however, for those who have complained about the COLOR of the regular LED you will be pleased with the normal color of this bulb. It generates about 160 lumens of light which is comparable to what the regular bulb does, but this one lasts 10,000 hours, uses very little power and creates no heat. Your batteries will thank you!

Portable Quartz Heater How many nights have you sat in the rig and needed a little heat? Or perhaps it's one of you who is cold and you don't want to heat up the whole rig? What about first thing in the morning? In a Class A the biggest cold source is around the front windshield and door area. That's where the furnace needs an assist. This little heater fits the bill. It can put out 800 watts of power and yet only draw 6 amps! It has two settings. On low it puts out 400 watts and on high 800. There is no fan so it is absolutely quiet and won't disturb anyone or cause you to have to turn up the volume on the TV. It is also great for those areas in your home that are chilly. (the actual color of the unit is light grey) This compact heater measures 10" wide by 16" high by 3" deep. The base folds up flat for compact storage. It weighs 24 ounces and has an automatic device that shuts off the heat if you pick it up, tip it over or put it on a soft carpet. You will be amazed and impressed. Many people have bought more than one of these for family and friends and extras for their home. The retail on this could easily be $35.00 but we are going to offer them for $24.99. Remember, we don't sell products unless they have first been tested in our rig and we are convinced the product will add value to all who purchase it. You are going to love this heater. | |
